With special <span class=\"caps\">XCF<\/span> files, <span class=\"caps\">GIMP<\/span> can be caused to crash, and possibly be made to execute arbitrary code provided by the&nbsp;attacker.<\/p>\n<p>This release includes <a href=\"https:\/\/git.gnome.org\/browse\/gimp\/plain\/NEWS?h=GIMP_2_8_18\">additional bug fixes since 2.8.16<\/a>.
