All the students will be contributing to faster transition of <span class=\"caps\">GIMP<\/span> to <span class=\"caps\">GEGL<\/span>, our new advanced image&nbsp;core.<\/p>\n<p>The projects&nbsp;are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maxime Nicco and hanslo will port <span class=\"caps\">GIMP<\/span> filters to <span class=\"caps\">GEGL<\/span>&nbsp;operations.<\/li>\n<li>Ville Sokk will port other <span class=\"caps\">GIMP<\/span> features to <span class=\"caps\">GEGL<\/span>.<\/li>\n<li>Isaac Wagner will create a <span class=\"caps\">GEGL<\/span>-based node compositor that will serve as playground for <span class=\"caps\">GEGL<\/span>&nbsp;development.<\/li>\n<li>Mikael Magnusson will create a <a href=\"http:\/\/gui.gimp.org\/index.php\/Transformation_tool_specification\">Unified Transform<\/a>&nbsp;tool.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the past years Google Summer of Code has proven to be a great source of contributions.
